Our Team

Yiming Jia (CAPTAIN)

Yiming is a senior at University High School and is currently the Captain of Charging Champions. He has been on the team since 2016, and leads parts of the robot build. He oversees many of the projects on the team and serves as a role model for younger students. Yiming is in the University High School Symphonic Band; he plays the clarinet.

Jingwen Hu (CO-VICE CAPTAIN)

Jingwen is a senior at University High School. She is an important asset to the build team, taking on leadership roles, and is the team's webmaster. Outside of FRC, she participates with OC Coder and plays in her school orchestra.

Thomas Lin(CO-VICE CAPTAIN)

Thomas is a junior at University High School. He has quickly adapted to become a very key contributor in the team, and is passionate about engineering. His machining skills greatly help in robot build, and is a valuable member of the team.

Arjun Neervannan (FOUNDER)

Arjun is a senior at University High School and is one of the founding members of the team that started in 2012 as a FIRST LEGO League Team. He captained the team for the 2018 and 2019 seasons focusing on design/build and game strategy. He is interested in Deep Reinforcement Learning, Natural Language Processing and AI ethics. He is on the cross-country team and is a performing Indian classical violinist.

Euan Tandiono (ELECTRICAL LEAD)

Euan is a senior at University High School. This is his second season on the team, and he mainly focuses on electrical subsystems of the build. He also leads the Field Element team, which builds the game pieces for practice. During competitions, he comes up with our scouting strategy, gathering statistics on other teams. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games.

Parva Shah (SCOUTING LEAD)

Parva is a junior at Northwood High School and leads the Scouting Team which comes up with our scouting strategy by gathering statistics on other teams during competitions. He works on the build team and the procurements committee, providing insight into which components to purchase. He is on Northwood High School’s Water Polo team.

Jack Liu (PROGRAMMING LEAD)

Jack is a senior at University High School and is the Programming Team Lead. He joined the team for the 2018-19 season. He has revamped our autonomous programs for greater accuracy. Additionally, he has developed a grade monitoring app that has gained popularity on the app store.

Jaimin Patel

Jaimin is a senior at University High School. He joined the team for the 17-18 season, and helps with Fundraising. Outside of FRC, he plays with his fusion band Monks of Funk and participates in economic research at UCI.

Krish Mehta

Krish is a junior at Northwood High School. He works with both the build team and the CAD team, providing insight into both. He is on Northwood High School’s Tennis team outside of FRC and enjoys playing video games.

Alicia Lin

Alicia is a sophomore at University High School. She joined the team this season, and is primarily a member of the CAD team, but also contributes to various aspects of the robot, including mechanical design and component construction. Alicia is a dancer and has participated in the University High School Dance Showcase.

Sriyan Nalamada

Sriyan is a sophomore at Portola High School. This is his first year in robotics. He worked with fundraising and outreach to complete the Chairman’s project and raise funds for the team. Outside of FRC, Sriyan is a video editor and film producer.

Radin Ahmadizadeh

Radin is a sophomore at University High School. He works on the build team mainly and is known for his innovative ideas. Radin is very involved at school and FRC, and is a valuable asset to the team.

Daeso

Daeso is a sophomore at University High School; joined the team for the 2019-20 season. He works on build team.

Selina Gong

Selina is a sophomore at University High School. She has participated in FTC in the past but this is her first year in FRC. Outside of FRC, Selina plays the clarinet in the University High School Wind Symphony and is on Dance Company.
