Our Team

Arjun Neervannan (CAPTAIN)

Arjun is a junior at University High School. He has been with the team since its inception in 2012 and is currently the Captain of Charging Champions. He oversees multiple subteams, additionally focusing on team management and game strategy. He is interested in deep reinforcement learning, AI ethics. He is on the cross-country team and is a performing Indian classical violinist.

David Kurniawan (BUILD/DESIGN Lead)

David is a senior at University High School. This is his third year on the team, and is the Lead of Build and Design. One of David’s projects for the team is the Engineering Notebook, a journal of team objectives and achievements that functions as a template for new teams. Additionally, he performs in the school’s Symphony Orchestra.

Albert Lin (VICE CAPTAIN)

Albert is a senior at University High School. He joined the team for the 2017 season and is Vice Captain of Charging Champions. Now, he leads the team in programming and in designing key components. He represented University High School in the ACS Chemistry Olympiad and competes in the USACO Silver Division.

Aaron Fu (CAD Lead)

Aaron is a senior at University High School. He joined the team for the 17-18 season and is now lead of the CAD team. Aaron performs in the University High School Symphony Orchestra and listens to K-Pop in his free time.

Jaimin Patel

Jaimin is a junior at University High School. He joined the team for the 17-18 season, and helps with Fundraising. Outside of FRC, he plays with his fusion band Monks of Funk and participates in economic research at UCI.

Jingwen Hu

Jingwen is a junior at University High School. She is an important asset to the build team, taking on leadership roles, and is the team's webmaster. Outside of FRC, she participates with OC Coder and plays in her school orchestra.

Yiming Jia

Yiming is a junior at University High School. He has been on Charging Champions for 3 years now, and leads he parts of the robot build. He oversees many of the projects on the team and serves as a role model for the younger students. Yiming is in the University High School Symphonic Band and he plays the clarinet.

Adrin Ahmadizadeh

Adrin is a senior at University High School. He joined the team this season, but has had experience with FRC in the past. Adrin focuses on the electrical and programming for the robot, and actively teaches our younger members. He is a vital part of our team.

Euan Tandiono

Euan is a junior at University High School. This is his second season on the team, and he mainly focuses on robot build. He leads the Field Element team, which builds the game pieces for practice. During competitions, he comes up with our scouting strategy, gathering statistics on other teams. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games.

Thomas Lin

Thomas is a sophomore at University High School. He has quickly adapted to become a very key contributor in the team, and is passionate about engineering. His machining skills greatly help in robot build, and he is a valuable member of the team.

Jack Liu

Jack is a junior at University High School. This is his first season on the team, and has helped the Programming team. He has revamped our autonomous programs for greater accuracy. Additionally, he has developed a grade monitoring app that has gained popularity on the app store.

Jamie Jhoe

Jamie is a junior at Woodbridge High School. This is her second year on the team, and she mainly participates in the electrical and control systems team. Outside of FRC, she enjoys listening to music and programming.

Parva Shah

Parva is a sophomore at Northwood High School. He works on the build team and the procurements committee, providing insight into which components to purchase. He is on Northwood High School’s Water Polo team.

Alicia Lin

Alicia is a freshman at University High School. She joined the team this season, and is primarily a member of the CAD team, but also contributes to various aspects of the robot, including mechanical design and component construction. Alicia is a dancer and has participated in the University High School Dance Showcase.

Max Li

Max is a freshman at University High School, and this is his first year on Charging Champions. He works with the build team. He enjoys making trap beats using LMMS when he is not at FRC.

Selina Gong

Selina is a freshman at University High School. She has participated in FTC in the past but this is her first year in FRC. Outside of FRC, Selina plays the clarinet in the University High School Wind Symphony and is on Dance Company.

Krish Mehta

Krish is a sophomore at Northwood High School. He works with both the build team and the CAD team, providing insight into both. He is on Northwood High School’s Tennis team outside of FRC and enjoys playing video games.

Rohan Nambimadom

Rohan is a freshman at University High School and on Charging Champions. He participated in FTC through Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and this is his first year participating in the FRC circuit. He works on the build and CAD teams primarily.

Sriyan Nalamada

Sriyan is a freshman at Portola High School. This is his first year in robotics. He worked with fundraising and outreach to complete the Chairman’s project and raise funds for the team. Outside of FRC, Sriyan is a video editor and film producer.

Radin Ahmadizadeh

Radin is a freshman at University High School. He works on the build team mainly and is known for his innovative ideas. Radin is very involved at school and FRC, and is a valuable asset to the team.
